Some of our members have more than 100 years experience mostly in
textile industry. In spite of this, during the last 30 years the
industrial web of the area has suffered a big transformation. From 1975 to 1986 there was an important restructuring process and
industrial reconversion. Since then, there has been a great
diversification of the industries. Consequenly, new industries such as
metalworks, chemicals, building materials and so on appeared. In 1986 there is the UE adhesion, which can be considered as the
starting-point of the internationalization process of most companies
in the area. Nowadays, our economy is mostly based on services and building
sectors. On the other hand, the industrial sector has had to find
other ways in order to keep competitive in a more and more competitive
environment. For this reason, we keep having more specialized companies.
